She said that everyone at MIHS was going to try and wear blue on *Thursday* in honor of Cristina and to support her. Scholarship Fund

Hey Everyone! I know it's been a while since a new post, so let's get some news up here!

So obviously everyone knows about the scholarship fund for the Gates Foundation match, right? Well according to Morgan's email, the seniors are pulling ahead. Let's all try and donate to get 100% participation and beat the seniors! Even if it's just a dollar, it counts, because then you have participated. AND you get your name in a raffle. How exciting is that?! So let's all pull together and aim for total class participation and help everyone go to FR through the scholarship fund. Thanks!!!

Taylor Swift

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying the last few (*sniff*) days of summer. Even though today's weather absolutley sucks, it has given me the opportunity to discover the new release of Taylor Swift's next album.

So while I was sitting on my bed, playing around on my Taylor Swift app for my iPhone, I noticed this new picture. It was Taylor in a purple flowy dress with the words "Speak Now" in white and her signature below. The picture also informed me this: "Available online and in stores 10/25/10". It took me a second to realize this was going to be Taylor's new album. Then I got super excited, being the TS fan that I am.

So I just thought I would let anyone who cares that Taylor Swfit has a new album coming out in October, including the hit single "Mine". And it's been a while since a new post has been put up on this blog :) So yeah. Relax and enjoy these few precious days we have left. Maybe even listen to some Taylor Swift music :D

IDEA!

By now, I'm sure many of you have seen the new class sweatshirt designs. I guess they aren't TOO bad, but if it's not too late, we have another idea (by Cailyn) to share:

Instead of sweatshirts.....we get matching CONVERSE!!!

It'll be very unique and our class ID can say "FR Class of 2013" or something. And we can figure out the colors later. We know it is a lot more expensive than sweatshirts, but it'll be worth it :)

This is just an idea, but if we get good responses from people, we can bring it up with Kelda, Anna, and Menbere or possibly the new class officers.

Class Bonding Party!

It is on August 14 from 1:00-3:00 p.m at Luther Burbank Park (Mercer Island)

You can bring swimsuits, towels, etc, if you like.

Relay for Life

Hey Everyone!

I hope summer time is treating you well :) For those of you who hadn't heard, Katie, Jennifer, Ellen, Paige, and I did Relay for Life this past weekend to support the American Cancer Society. Our team in total raised about $5,600! We were the top 5th ranking team overall for fundraising, and the 2nd youth team overall. Katie and Ellen walked 25 miles, while Jennifer and I walked 20. Paige did about 15 miles. Thank you to anyone who donated and for all who supported us- you guys rock!

Funny Story!

Here's a funny story to brighten your day :)

In a hospital relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill.

Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber. 'I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news,' he said as he surveyed the worried faces.

He continued, 'The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an extremely experimental procedure, very risky… but it is the only hope. Insurance will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the brain yourselves...'

The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great length of time, someone asked, 'Well, how much does a brain cost?'

The doctor quickly responded, '$5,000 for a male brain, and $200 for a female brain.'

The moment turned awkward. All of the men in the room tried not to smile with egos ablaze, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked.

One man, finally unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone in the room wanted to ask, 'Why is the malebrain so much more?'

The doctor smiled at his childish innocence and explained to the entire group, 'It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of the female brains, because they've actually been used.'

Boy's School Approved

This just in: The boy's school has been approved. Earlier this evening Mr. Pierotti sent out an email to all of the parents letting them know that they hope to have it up and running by 2012, our junior year! What do you guys think of this?
